Your role and responsibilities

For this Master Thesis you will be focusing on parts of logistics department workflow in Robotics production with the use of Leans Six Sigma methods. The scope of the work is to apply Lean Six Sigma methods for documentation and analysis of the workflow. It includes process mapping, spaghetti diagram, conducting interviews, identifying wastes and lean parts of the process, analyzing existing workflow for potential improvements and providing recommendations. Details :

  • Period : January-June 2025
  • 30 ECTS / högskolepoäng (hp)
  • Number of students : 1
  • Location : ABB Robotics in Västerås, Finnslätten and Ottar in Västerås Your responsibilities :
  • Collect the data on the parts of the process in scope, perform the analysis and propose recommendations for any improvements
  • You will have a dedicated supervisor helping you in the right direction and a lot of possibilities to influence the way forward as you see fit

Qualifications for the role

  • M.Sc student in Mechanical Engineering, Production development
  • Preferably knowledge in DMAIC / Lean Six Sigma and data analytics
  • Preferably knowledge production processes
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Independent, outgoing, ambitious and goal-oriented
  • Fluency in Swedish
