About us

As the university of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the German Sport University Cologne is unique in Germany with its research spectrum and around 6,000 students. It is also one of the most renowned universities in its field internationally.

In the central operating unit for information technology (ze.IT), the IT applications department has a vacancy for a full-time system administrator (CMS) with a regular weekly working time of currently 39 hours and 50 minutes.

Your main tasks

Administration of content management systems (CMS)
Maintenance and further development of the CMS build and deployment infrastructure
Collaboration with external service providers in the CMS area
Problem solving in 2nd and 3rd level support
System upgrades and documentation

Your profile

Required are

a successfully completed university degree in the field of computer science or completed training in the IT sector

Enjoy the administration of a complex IT system with diverse technical components

Broad knowledge in the field of operational IT and the willingness to acquire expert knowledge in some sub-areas

Business fluent command of written and spoken German

Communication skills and enjoy working in a team

Desirable are

sound knowledge in the field of server administration under Linux as well as in network technology

Experience in the administration of Typo3 instances including updates and maintenance

Knowledge of domain administration and handling SSL certificates

Knowledge of shell script programming and PHP

Initiative, ability to work in a team and flexibility

If the personal and pay scale requirements are met, you will be graded up to pay group 9b TV-L. You can find more information on the level of pay here. The level assignment is based on personal professional experience.
